Hailing from North Alabama, Rachel was our first associate editor. Poetry Editor at Cahoodaloodaling, she first encountered Pankhearst when they published Kate Garrett’s poem ‘Changeling’. She then interviewed Kate for the Spring 2015 issue of Cahoodaloodaling and shortly afterwards, entered and won a Pankhearst competition. It seemed as if it was written in the stars.
Rachel was the primary editor of the Pankhearst collection America is Not the World.
Her poetry has appeared at Melancholy Hyperbole, Up the Staircase Quarterly, Spillway, Bop Dead City, and Words Dance.
Despite her Southern heritage, Rachel only believes in spinach dip, coffee, and getting the Hell out of Dodge. She and her many dogs live in a town with only two traffic lights; this may be why she’s obsessed with road trips. Rachel likes people who know how to use semi-colons and make chocolate oatmeal cookies like her grandma. She lies about her age and collects hot sauce.
