Editor Tee Tyson is now accepting submissions for the first non-fiction Pankhearst project. Almost inevitably, FIRSTS will be a narrative (or creative) non-fiction collection about your first times.
Which first time you write about is entirely up to you, but we hear sex, drugs, and rock & roll sell well. Tell us about your first piercing, your first tattoo, your first broken-heart, your first period, your first bout of chemo. Tell us about anything that meant so much to you that you still remember it deep down in your bones. Tell us about something that still makes you laugh. Or hide your face in shame.
For this collection, we are looking for raw, real, and well written pieces. No more than 5,000 words. There really are no other rules.
Given the personal nature of this collection, we understand there may be a need for anonymity and swear to be discreet. Pen names are always an option.
How to submit:
- Send us your creative (or narrative) non-fiction in a .doc, .docx, .rtf or in the body of an email. Please DO NOT send PDFs. We don’t like them.
- Address your submission to Tee at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Give us a one-sentence creative bio, hopefully related to our themes. E.g. “Evangeline Jennings’ first time was with three girls from Sunderland. The brother of one of the girls watched from behind his drum kit.”
Simultaneous submissions are also fine, but please notify us ASAP if the work is accepted elsewhere.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide paperback contributor copies or payment for this anthology, but every contributor will receive a polished PDF version of the completed collection and ebooks in both MOBI and EPUB formats.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday 30 June 2016.
