We are drawing close to publishing our second collection of stories. This one, called HEATHERS, is a set of “authentic” YA stories and it should be in an Amazon near you in time for Xmas. Touch wood.
Consequently, we’re now open for submissions for either or both of the following new projects:
A sister volume to HEATHERS – short stories – guide length 1K – 5K. Deadline – end of February 2014.
General fiction short stories/novellas (guideline 10K-25K) that will be published standalone, one a month during 2014, in ebook format only with a “compilation album” paperback and ebook being published in December 2014.
There is no deadline for submissions at present, but indications of interest should be sent by the end of the year.
Things you should know
We’re a collective. We do not exist to make money. Our goal is to learn by doing, and to promote our writing. Currently, all proceeds are reinvested in promotion. If you’re not comfortable with this and prepared to cut us some slack, then move on. There’s nothing to see here.
Otherwise, this is an opportunity for you to work with other writers, showcase your talent, develop your skills and experience, and become involved in the overall Pankhearst program.
We have a number of talented young editors and writers already signed up to these projects.
Submissions must be your own, previously unpublished work.
If you participate in any of these projects, you will be granting us the right to publish your story in paperback and ebook for ever and ever – amen. You will be granting us that right exclusively for the first three months after publication. After that time, you may do whatever else you would like to with your story but we will retain the perpetual right to publish it within the original Pankhearst collection.
You may be based anywhere around the world. Current Pankhearst members/contributors are based in Australia, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and a cruise ship roaming somewhere in international waters.
The importantest bit
Pankhearst welcomes everybody, regardless of age, color, disability, familial or parental status, gender identity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and anything else you can think of.
If we haven’t put you off yet, you can find a few more details and contact us via our Submissions page.
